Dar es Salaam. Azam FC moved level on points with second-placed Young Africans yesterday after beating free-falling Stand United 1-0 in an entertaining Vodacom Premier League at the Azam Complex.
Defender Shomari Kapombe, who was deployed in midfield by coach Stewart Hall, scored the solitary goal that took Azam’s points to 50.
However, despite tying with the reigning champions, the Hall’s men still sit third in the 16-team table log due to the former’s superior goal difference.
