DC mediates conflicts pitting law enforcers

Mwanza. Bukombe District Commissioner, Mr Amani Mwenegoha on Wednesday mediated a row involving police officers and the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) staff who fought over testifying witness in a corruption case.
The incident occurred at the Bukombe resident magistrate court, where police officers handcuffed a witness Paulo Stephano who was brought at the court by the PCCB to testify in a corruption case.
The DC told the district security committee which comprised members from Police and PCCB that while at the court, the police handcuffed Mr Paulo and later bundled him in a police vehicle before testifying at the court despite having been brought at the court by the PCCB.
